Electric MotorThe SDPM5J series is a low-voltage, variable-frequency-driven three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). Based on the SDPM5 platform, it has been further optimized for industrial applications and regenerative VFD operating conditions.
This series features high efficiency, high power density, fast dynamic response, and strong energy regeneration capability. It is compatible with vector control and torque closed-loop drives, and is widely used in applications such as pumps, fans, compressors, conveying systems, textile machinery, printing, packaging, and special-purpose equipment where high energy efficiency and precise control performance are required.

Permanent Magnet Synchronous Design
Utilizes high-performance rare-earth permanent magnets and optimized stator slot geometry, providing high rotor magnetic energy density and excellent demagnetization resistance. This ensures high efficiency and high torque density.
VFD Optimization & Regenerative Capability
When matched with regenerative-capable frequency inverters, braking energy can be fed back to the grid or energy storage units. Ideal for applications with frequent braking or energy recovery, such as hoisting systems, pump stations, and lifting/braking operations.
Excellent Low-Speed Performance & Dynamic Response
Supports closed-loop vector control (FOC) and direct torque control (DTC). Maintains stable torque output and fast transient response even at low speeds, making it suitable for servo-grade or precise speed control applications.
High Energy Efficiency & Low Operating Cost
Across a wide load range, efficiency is significantly higher than that of induction motors. Certain configurations can reach IE4 / IE5 or equivalent efficiency levels, delivering substantial long-term energy savings.
Cooling & Thermal Management
Standard configuration: IC411 (self-cooled, shaft-mounted fan).
Optional: IC416 forced ventilation or special cooling solutions for low-speed, high-load conditions to ensure controlled temperature rise.
Flexible Mechanical & Electrical Interfaces
Standard frame sizes, flanges, and shaft dimensions comply with national standards, allowing easy replacement. Optional accessories include encoders, tachometers, PT100 temperature sensors, and vibration sensors.
Durability-Oriented Design
Features a robust mechanical structure, high-quality bearings, and reliable lubrication systems. For VFD operation, bearing insulation or shaft grounding rings are applied to extend bearing life.
Easy Integration & Maintenance
Complete wiring diagrams, interface definitions, control recommendations, and maintenance manuals are provided, supporting system integration and secondary development.

Power Supply Quality
Recommended voltage fluctuation within ±10%, and three-phase imbalance ≤ 1–2%, to ensure stable motor and drive performance.
VFD Compatibility
Use inverters supporting vector control or closed-loop speed control (with encoder/tachometer feedback) to fully utilize PMSM dynamic and precision advantages.
Regeneration & Braking
For applications with frequent braking or energy regeneration, the inverter or regenerative unit must support energy feedback to the grid or energy buffering. Otherwise, braking units are required.
Cables & Filtering
Long motor cables may cause high dv/dt pulses and overvoltage. dv/dt filters, output reactors, isolation measures, proper cable shielding, and grounding are recommended.
Bearing Protection
VFD operation may induce shaft currents. Shaft grounding rings, insulated bearings, or dedicated bearing protection solutions are recommended to prevent bearing damage.
Low-Speed Cooling
Self-fan cooling efficiency decreases at low speed. Forced ventilation (IC416) or auxiliary cooling is recommended when necessary.
Monitoring & Maintenance
It is recommended to install temperature (PT100), vibration, and speed sensors and integrate them into PLC or monitoring systems for early warning and predictive maintenance.
